Map of the Maas area between Maaseik and Grave with Venlo in the centre, orientated to the North. Etching in original outline colour after Nic. Sanson by “H. Jaillot, Paris 1692”. “Contrefacon hollandaise” in first state! In fact not published by Jaillot, but by Pieter Mortier in Amsterdam in the first issue of his “Jaillot-Atlas”. Cf. Pastoureau Jail. I D (54): “Copie de la carte originale”. Vredenberg-Alink, Gelderland, 19 d. – Excellent impression, good original margins. Very light age-toning throughout. Only in bottom margin some staining. Verso at right margin a small library stamp.
