“Bononiense Territorium” and “Nova et accuratissima Territorii Vicentini descriptio”. 2 upright maps on one sheet, arranged side by side. The Bologna territory delineated by Giovanni A. Magini, the Vicenza territory with an inset town plan of the city of Vicenza after a manuscript by Filippo Pigaffetta. 2 engraved maps in original colour, printed from 1 plate and published by Joan Bapt. Vrients in his Ortelius edition, Antwerp 1608 or 1612. (PM) 35,5 x 49,5 cm.

According to v.d.B. online ca. 1000 copies of the map were printed and not – as stated in his reference book – ca. 1050; his estimate of loose copies in circulation is 17. - Full impression of the plate with wide original margins at all sides. Excellent and bright full original colour, absolutely untouched by a later hand! Very slight paper browning throughout. Minor staining, mainly in white margins. A split in lower centrefold neatly restored. In left hand white margin manuscript remark by an old hand “Bologna”. The initial letter “C” on verso in original colour as well. An outstandingly attractive copy.
