“Veue ou Profil de Barcelone Capitale de Catalogne”. General view from the harbour with a 23-point key to prominent sites and buildings below. Etching by Pieter Mortier, Amsterdam ca. 1705. (PM) 22,4 x 28,4 cm.
From P. Mortier’s “Les Forces de l’Europe.. ou Description des Principales Villes..”. The work and its illustrations were “inspired” by de Fer’s earlier similar work. But all its plans and views are printed from new plates executed in the workshop of Mortier, mostly slightly larger than those of de Fer. Mortier’s work is much rarer than that of de Fer. - Excellent copy. Strong and even impression, wide original margins.
