“Nieuwe en nauwkeurige Kaart van het Zuidelykste gedeelte van Spanje genaamt Andalusie waar in aangewezen word.. de Stadt van Cadix..de Stadt en haven van Gibraltar..”. Map of the region in the triangle of Cadiz, Ronda and Gibraltar in the South. Copper engraving in original colour, published by Reinier & Josua Ottens, Amsterdam c. 1725 or later. (PM) 50 x 59 cm.
Probably one of the not too numerous original maps the Ottens brothers commissioned. The title refers to English surveys of Gibraltar bay and rock. It shows the coastline between north of Cadiz and Estepona at the Mediterranean. – Freshly preserved with wide original margins. In places near centrefold thin paper because of abrasion at the back. But all in all an excellent copy!
