Beschreibung:

“ Stettinum– Stettin”. General view of the town still surrounded by walls. Up in the sky a title-banderol and putti carrying flying panels with keys to Nos. in the view. Below the view a detailed engraved description of the town in Latin and German is placed. Engraving published by Johann Christian Leopold, Augsburg  ca. 1730/35. (PM) 20, 4 x 30, 2 cm.

First or at least very early state, before the later engraved sign. “S.9.“ in the lower right corner. Our copy has no engraved signature whatsoever in the bottom corners. Rare in this early state! – Strong and clear impression of the whole copperplate with white margins, the upper margin narrow and cut to platemark. Faint staining in few places, free of other possible imperfections.
