Engraved map in original outline colour, “Gravé d’après la copie de Petersbourg dressée par les Ingenieurs de sa Maj. l’Imperatrice de Russie”, by Henry de Leth, Amsterdam “a l’enseigne du Pêcheur”, ca. 1740. The map shows the area between the Dnjepr and the Don, going to the North up to Poltava, and includes the whole Crimean peninsula. The military positions shown refer to the beginning of the Russian-Turkish war in 1736 under the reign of tsarina Anna. - Full impression of the plate with wide original margins at all sides. The colours freshly preserved. The whole condition almost excellent, the only shortcoming is a short tear in the middle of the map, which has been neatly restored and is almost invisible from recto.
